General features
It is obtained as a result of the reaction of components such as polyurethane thinners, polyols and isocyanates. They are chemicals that are generally used for thinning, diluting or adjusting the mixture properties of resins. It allows to control the reaction rate. Fast reactions provide faster curing, while slower reactions offer longer processing times. Provides viscosity control, provides a lower viscosity mixture, easier application and spreading. Polyurethane thinners give users flexibility to tailor resins to specific needs. It helps to ensure a homogeneous mixture between the resin and hardener components. This improves the quality and performance of the product. Polyurethane thinners are generally chemically stable, allowing them to be used in applications where resin blends may be exposed to different environmental conditions. Polyurethane thinners are generally colorless and transparent, so their addition to resin blends usually does not affect the color or appearance of the final product.
Usage areas
Polyurethane thinners are widely used in furniture making, wood veneer, cast resin art, coating, adhesives, surface coatings and many more industries. Some of these are Marine, Automotive and aircraft industry, Production of plastic and composite materials, Architecture and construction sectors.
Safety Precautions and Toxicity
Since polyurethane thinners are chemical substances, personal protective equipment should be used and if you are working in closed areas, good ventilation is required. It has a flammable feature, high heat, flame, fire, sparks should be avoided.
